Challenge |
|
| Customer was required to add hipot testing to existing continuity
test on printed circuit boards which were built 4-up on a panel. They wanted
to avoid the cost of a new fixture by utilizing an existing pogo-pin test
interface. The test needed to determine which of the four pcbs failed in the event
of a failure. |
Solution
|
| A custom script called a 'one_up_test' was created
that tested all four quadrants as though they were one board. If all four
quadrants were good the main test passed. If the main test failed, the
script called individual programs specific to each quadrant to determine
which part was bad. Digital I/O was utilized to mark the bad part. |
Results
|
The customer was able to successfully add hipot
testing to their existing test process without incurring the cost of new
tooling and with minimal additional test time.
