Cable Testers and Harness Testers Made Easy!

Once you have Installed the Server Software on a PC you'll need to configure your Touch1's to work on the network. Note: The Touch1 must have Software version 5.0c or greater and a reliable network connection.

Use the Cirris Server Utilities program to make a configuration disk. Insert the disk with the saved network configuration file into the Touch1's floppy drive and follow these steps:

1. From the Touch1 main menu select "System Setup".

       

   
   

2. From the System Setup menu select "Software Update".

       

   
   
3. From the Software Update menu select "Import Network Configuration".

       

   
   
4. Choose the configuration file.

   If you checked DHCP in the Network Configuration form, select the file named "dhcp.cfg". If you checked Static IP the file name will be the tester's serial number with ".cfg" on the end.

       

   
   
5. The Touch1 will display the file. Select "Import".

       

   
   
6. When the Import process has completed,  power cycle your Touch1.
   
   
   
7. Test the installation.

   Now, when you access files on your Touch1, you will see a new drive letter listed. The new drive letter maps to the tester file storage directory on your server. To make sure the Touch1 is connected to your server, save a wirelist to the new drive letter. On your server PC, use Windows Explorer to go to the folder selected for tester file storage and view the wirelist you saved.
